"I'm not made of fur, I'm made of FIERCE!!!!"

We have a new family member! His name is Ranger. He is a mutt, but he swears he is 100% Pit Bull! He acts pretty tough most of the time, but he's actually a little wimp! He makes us laugh though, and Saylor is starting to play with him a little although she still gets annoyed sometimes. He is all white with little black freckles on his face and his ears and we think his ears are going to end up pointing straight up like his mother's. His eyes are also a bit funky, but we think it adds to his quirky character!

Honeymoon Time!

John and I left immediately after the wedding and headed down to Houston. We had dinner at The Palm restaurant where one of our friends, Jennifer, bartends. We had delicious food and drinks and Jennifer took really good care of us! We stayed at Hotel Derek for the wedding night where they left us a bottle of champagne in an ice bucket while we were at dinner. The hotel was BEAUTIFUL!

The next morning, we drove the rest of the way down to Galveston to board our cruise ship! The first two days were sailing. They had lost of shows, food, more food, oh, and FOOD! I think we each gained 10 pounds that week! There was also mini golf (which is interesting on a ship!), a casino (which we never got around to), and lots of photographers everywhere which is where the professional pictures came from.

We stopped in Jamaica where we swam with the dolphins and climbed Dunn's River Falls... the water was FREEZING by the way!! The next day we stopped at Grand Cayman Island where we visited the Turtle Farm (Amy's favorite) and Sting Ray City. We got to hold baby Sea turtles which were so cute!! We got to snorkel with Sting Rays and touch them as well! The last stop was Cozumel where we rented a Jeep (John's favorite) and got to snorkel underground in mineral water-filled caverns which were gorgeous!

The Wedding!!

The wedding was a success! John finally agreed to let me have Saylor (the labradorK) as the ring bearer. She did a great job! It was a little bit chilly, and there were a few hiccups (like every event I suppose), but overall it was everything we wanted!

People ask us how married life is and we both have the same answer... pretty much the same except that Amy's name is different! Oh yeah, and all those vows and stuff! : )

Here are some pictures!!!

And some more!!

New Wedding Plans!!!

Ok, we finally came to our senses (well, me mostly) and realized that there is no reason to spend thousands of dollars on this wedding when we have lots of other wonderful ways that we could spend that money... like towards the loads of student loans I'm taking out for Chiropractic school!!!

We also decided that if we scaled it down, we could afford to do it early which is great because then, when I go back to school in January (not going this fall), I can concentrate on school by itself rather than planning a wedding!! We are having the wedding in our own backyard November 22!! It's going to be VERY small with just family and the wedding party. That afternoon we're driving down to Galveston and we'll leave for our week-long Caribbean cruise the next day! The weekend after we get back, we're gonna have the rest of our friends meet us at Cowboys (our favorite) for a reception party!

We're so excited about our new plans!! This works so much better for us and will be so much cheaper and WAY less stressful!! I've picked out all the decorations and made the bouquets and they turned out so great!!! We bought an arbor and decorations and a unity candle with a fall theme will go under the arbor. Also got a burgundy aisle runner and we'll be renting wooden chairs for the guests. We CAN'T WAIT!!

Am I Crazy??

Am I crazy? That is what I am asking myself after re-reading an email I just sent to my future mother-in-law! She was talking about how crazy things are right now in her life (The lady has 3 kids and a husband... she's a brave woman!), and I got to thinking about my own crazy life. This was my response...

"I know what you mean!! I had 24 hours worth of board exam reviews this weekend, two lab practicals this afternoon (that's where I have to demonstrate different exams, adjustments, and/or orthopedic tests), got biochem, pathology, and physiology exams tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday, got family flying in from the Philippines Thursday, 2 more practicals next week, an Aunt in town all next week and weekend, 7 final exams the week after, then gotta study for board exams for about 6 days before I go back to eight 8-hour days of straight board exam reviews, then I go back to school starting Trimester #5 for 4 days, then the actual board exams that Friday and Saturday.... all while trying to buy a house and plan a wedding... WHEW!! So don't be surprised if you don't see much of me until about September 13th!!! OMG! I knew I was a busy girl, but DANG!!! HA!! Luckily after that, I just have to focus on 32 credit hours of class (the usual) and studying for my clinic entrance exam so that I can take on a full load of patients starting in Jan on top of my classes (which is why we gotta get this wedding planning stuff out of the way by the end of December). Did I mention that Chiropractic school (AKA Medical school on CRACK) SUCKS!!! HA HA HA!!! Call me crazy, but I kinda LOVE IT!!!"

So I decided I've finally cracked... which is what I was most likely ON when I signed up for this 3-year torture! Just put me in a padded room so I don't hurt myself.... :)

Engagement Photos

Our friend, Donya took our engagment picture for us and they turned out GREAT! We met her at her house and then she drove us to some really cool spots she'd already picked out. We took pictures on a railroad bridge, an old concrete bridge, and behind some old historical buildings in Mansfield, TX (where I'm from). The spots she picked totally go along with our wedding theme and will look great displayed at the ceremony and reception!
